FAQs about Brennick

The short answers, kept to what the product does today. Anything not here, write to support@brennick.ai or use the contact form.

The product

What does Brennick do?

It reads a case file and builds a timeline where every entry cites its page, flags treatment gaps and missing records, and turns the bills into a charges ledger. It then assesses strength, estimates a damages range and drafts the demand. It also runs your intake page, conflict checks and client portal, and a licensed attorney at your firm approves the AI output before anything is used.

Which practice areas does it cover?

Personal injury and employment. Medical records become the medical timeline, and police reports, emails, HR records and letters become dated events in the same case timeline, each cited to its page.

Which file types can I upload?

PDFs, scans, Word, email with its attachments, spreadsheets, photos, ZIP files and more. Audio and video are stored for your own review and are never transcribed or sent to a model. Programs and scripts are refused.

Does it work in my state?

Yes, in every state. In California, Brennick calculates statute of limitations dates from verified rules for the case types they cover; elsewhere, and whenever a government entity is a defendant, your attorney enters the date. Damages ranges work in every state, on a verified basis in California and on an AI-researched basis elsewhere that is labelled as such. Workers’ compensation cases get no range.

Can I ask questions about a case?

Yes. Ask this case answers from the records only, and every claim in an answer carries its page and quote. A claim whose quote is not on its page is dropped, and a question the records do not answer gets “Not found in the records.”

Will the demand sound like our firm?

A firm admin can upload sample demand letters. Brennick takes style notes from them, never their text or facts. The draft carries a specials table built from the bills and cited to their pages, and your attorney sets the amount.

Accuracy and review

Who approves the AI output?

Only a licensed attorney at your firm can approve an analysis, a damages range, a strategy report or a demand export, and the database enforces it. A firm admin can require that only a case’s responsible attorney approve on that case. Records request letters can be approved by any staff member.

How accurate is it?

On test case files where every answer was known in advance, 97% of citations pointed to the right page, 97% of medical events were found, and 99% of visits were cited to their own page. The graders are code, not an AI. How accuracy is measured.

What happens when Brennick gets something wrong?

Your attorney edits it before approving. Every entry cites a page, so an error is quick to check. When an attorney approves, Brennick keeps the model’s original output beside the approved version, and both go in the audit log.

Is the damages range a valuation of the case?

No. It is an assistive range built on a stored, cited legal basis and the bills in the file. It needs its own attorney review, and nothing uses it until that review is approved. Without a usable basis, Brennick gives no range.

Does Brennick forecast how a case will end?

No. The strength assessment describes what the record supports and what cuts against it, for your firm only, never your clients. It never forecasts a result.

Clients and intake

Do clients see the AI output?

Never, on any plan. The portal’s queries cannot read the timeline, the strength assessment, the damages range or any other analysis.

What do clients see in the portal?

Their case status, messages with your firm, the documents they uploaded and the to-dos you send them. Files a client uploads wait for your staff to accept them before they join the case.

Does an AI talk to clients at intake?

No. No model reads an intake submission. Urgent situations are caught by fixed patterns and flagged for a person at your firm.

How do conflict checks work?

Every party named at intake or on a new case is checked against your firm’s other cases, close spellings included. A possible match always waits for a person to decide, and a check never clears itself.

How do clients find our intake page?

Your intake page has its own link. Put it on your website, in an email or behind a QR code.

Security and privacy

Is Brennick a HIPAA business associate?

Brennick is not a HIPAA business associate and does not sign business associate agreements (BAAs). See section 5A of the Terms of Service.

Does Brennick train AI on our files?

No. Brennick does not train models on your data, and its AI provider is barred by contract from training on it. The provider may keep the text it receives for up to 30 days to operate and secure its service, then deletes it.

Can a client keep their records away from AI?

Yes. Any staff member can turn AI off for a case, and while it is off no page of that case goes to a model. Only a licensed attorney can turn it back on.

How are substance use records handled?

A case with 42 CFR Part 2 records is flagged, and none of its documents reaches an AI model until a licensed attorney clears it on the client’s written consent. A demand in that case cannot be exported until an attorney records the client’s written consent naming the recipient.

What happens to our data if we cancel?

A firm admin can export all of it at any time. After cancellation it is kept for 90 days so you can export it, then permanently deleted. A legal hold pauses deletion.

Pricing and cases

What counts as a case?

A case counts when your firm accepts it or chooses to analyze it before deciding, and only if its analysis completes. Submissions you decline never count, and re-running a case or adding records to it never counts again.

What if we need more cases than the plan includes?

Included cases reset each month and do not roll over. Extra cases are $10 each on every plan, bought in advance in Settings and paid at purchase. They are used after the month's included cases, carry over until used and never expire. A firm admin can also turn on automatic extra cases with a monthly cap from 1 to 500; it is off until an admin turns it on.

How much is an extra attorney?

Solo includes 1 attorney, Brief up to 5 and Docket up to 10. Each extra attorney seat is $99 a month, or $1,069.20 a year on annual plans. An added seat is charged when added, prorated, and a removed seat is not refunded.

Do paralegals and staff cost extra?

No. Paralegals and staff are unlimited and free on every plan.

How does the trial work?

3 days and 1 case, with a card required. There is one trial per firm, and a trial that repeats an earlier one is charged as a paid plan at once.

What happens on day 4 of the trial?

Your card is charged for the plan you chose unless you cancel in Settings before then. Cases from the trial stay in your account.

How do cancellation and refunds work?

During the trial, nothing is charged until day 4; cancel before then from Settings, Billing and nothing is charged, and we email you the day before the first charge. A monthly plan can be canceled at any time in Settings: it stays available to the end of the month you have paid for. An annual plan can be canceled at any time too: canceling stops the renewal, the plan stays available to the end of the year you have paid for, and we email you at least 30 days before it renews. All fees are non-refundable, including bought extra cases and removed attorney seats. The narrow exceptions are in the Terms of Service. You can export all of your firm's data at any time, and after cancellation it is kept for 90 days before it is deleted.

Is tax added, and are there any other fees?

Prices are in US dollars and do not include tax. Sales tax is added at checkout and on each invoice where it applies. There is no setup fee, no fee per page read, no fee per e-signature envelope, no fee per text message, no storage fee and no fee to export your data. What is never charged.

Is the price tied to settlements?

No. Each firm pays a flat price: Solo $299, Brief $499 and Docket $799 a month, or $3,229, $5,389 and $8,629 a year. What a case resolves for never changes what you pay. See full pricing.

Which plans include integrations and e-signature?

Brief and above include e-signature and integrations with Clio, Google Calendar and Outlook calendar. Docket adds records requests, lien tracking, case costs and firm reporting.

What about larger firms?

Enterprise gives your firm a custom plan: its own included cases, attorneys and terms. Ask for a quote through the contact form.

Getting started

How do we get started?

A firm admin signs up, chooses a plan and accepts the Terms for the firm. Then invite your team, record each licensed attorney with their bar number and state, and share your intake page.

Is there phone or chat support?

No, by design. Write to support@brennick.ai or use the contact form, and a person answers.

Is Brennick a law firm?

Brennick is software for law firms, not a law firm, and does not give legal advice.
